Who am I?
As the former Assistant Director of Admission and alum of The New School’s School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and Mannes School of Music, I know the ins and outs of conservatories' unique admission processes. During my tenure, I processed over 4,000 applications, reviewed nearly 600 auditions, awarded $9 million in scholarships, and met with almost every other major conservatory admissions office to discuss our shared processes. My experience has given me a unique perspective on the otherwise shrouded process.
Compared to a more ‘standard’ college, conservatories have a more artistic approach to evaluating applicants. Each school has a distinct personality and caters to a specific kind of musician and student.
So, through my service, I strive to find the individuality in each student. I aim to match the student with the right music program, convey their unique traits and musical vision through the application, and reinforce their individuality and musical prowess through their audition.
